M. D. Charlton Co Ltd., Canada’s largest distributor of law enforcement supplies, is looking for an accounts payable / office support person.  The office is located on Keating Cross Road in Saanichton.


Primary responsibilities for this the position of Accounts Payable / Office support are

  • Receive, process and pay invoices as they become due.
  • Prepare cheques wire transfer information and credit card payments to satisfy payment requirements.
  • Provide alternate coverage for reception when necessary.
  • Provide back up coverage for Accounts receivable as required.
  • Assist accounts receivable by taking telephone payments
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as photocopying, collating, faxing etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to provide clear, concise and complete oral and written information at a level appropriate to the audience, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to employ excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy in performing calculations, data entry and reviewing of details
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Advanced computer skills (in a PC environment using MS Office), and adaptable to using custom applications
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in administration and some office experience would be an asset
